Smothers Day Finished

I finally finished my Smothers Day booklet. The pictures for this book (except for one and a photo) were all done using photoshop, previously I've hand drawn everything in the traditional sense. I was quite pleased with how the illustrations turned out although I'm not sure if I'll use the same techniques again.

My next project will have colour pictures, something I've never done before. Again I'll be using photoshop and maybe Manga Studio. I'm going to do a comic, either a re-doing of a comic I made about 15 years ago, 'GrandFathers' Books' or a sword and sorcery tale or maybe have a go at adapting an H.P.Lovecraft story.

I've added PayPal buttons to the side bar of my blog allowing anyone to buy a book.

the horned god

A pretty much finished illustration of cernunnos, the horned god, for my book on the origins of mothers day.

Onion Boy News

I found out this week that I've sold eleven copies of my Onion Boy booklet/poem through the comic shops it was sent to. This is precisely eleven more copies than I thought I'd sell. All five copies sent to Orbital Comics in London sold and Worlds Apart Liverpool sold all six copies. I may have even sold more but I still don't know if the other shops in Manchester or Birmingham ever got them. I must find out. I plan to make some more to send to Orbital Comics as they said they'd happily take them. Orbital have even paid me for the five they sold, the princely sum of £4.

No drawing for a while & Onion Boy News

I've been bad and not done much arty stuff for a while now, must try to do some soon.

On the  plus side? My poemy, story, booklet thing 'The Sad Tale of Onion Boy' is on sale on the small press shelves at;

Orbital Comics, London (SOLD OUT! should be available again soon)
Worlds Apart, Liverpool (SOLD OUT!)
Nostalgia & Comics, Birmingham (SOLD OUT!)
Forbidden Planet, Manchester (SOLD OUT!)

The bargain price of £1. See the pictures here.

It will be weird if anyone actually buys one. (There is some doubt to its appeal because its not a comic but I thought it was worth a go.)

I did sell one on Etsy a while ago, strangely to someone about 5 miles from where i live.
